About Roger

Roger Edwards is proposition director for Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, responsible for marketing, product development, and PR.

Roger has been developing and marketing financial services products for nearly 20 years, specialising in protection products for the last 15. He was one of the founder members of the management team of Bright Grey, the protection business built from stratch by The Royal London Group in 2003.

Before that he was head of product marketing with Scottish Provident. So things have come full circle now that Scottish Provident is now owned by Royal London.

Co-inventor of the ‘protection menu’ product, which is now an industry standard, Roger believes that modern menu plans provide the flexibility necessary to get the fit just right for every client.

Roger is becoming increasingly known for using social media to promote the need for protection insurance, and is a regular tweeter. He is a frequent press commentator on protection products and has also chaired and spoken at many conferences in the UK, Europe and the US. He is currently a member of the ABI Protection Strategy Committee.

Outside work, Roger is a qualified fitness instructor teaching Body Combat, Body Balance in clubs around Edinburgh. In 2010 he also became a fully qualified Yoga teacher.
